Founded in 1997, GTx, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of therapeutic products related to men's health. The company's drug discovery and development programs are focused on small molecules that selectively target nuclear hormone receptors for estrogens and androgens. These nuclear hormone receptors are among the best-understood receptor systems, and pharmaceuticals have been developed to either stimulate or block these receptors for over 50 years.

To this end, we are actively recruiting for the following position:

Sales, Training Director

Position Summary:

The Director of Sales Training will design and deliver all facets of product and selling skill training as well as ongoing development for all levels of a newly-formed field sales force. This will include training for anticipated launch products and all phases of initial sales training, as well as ongoing career development for both Sales Representatives and District Sales Managers.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Hire your team and vendors necessary to ensure the sales force has the education, product knowledge and sales skills needed to deliver the company objectives.
  • Play a leadership role in preparing the GTx sales force to successfully launch Acapodene. That will include designing the curricula and overseeing the development of all materials for all phases of the product launch(es).
  • Design the curricula and oversee the development of all materials for sales training post-launch to include new-hire training and subsequent phases of product/skill training.
  • Oversee the development of “Career Ladder” programs for Sales Representatives.
  • Work with senior management to design the curricula and oversee the development of all phases of District Sales Manager training and ongoing development.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Managed Care, Marketing, Sales Operations, Medical Affairs, Legal and HR to develop and ensure all GTx programs deliver the objectives and culture consistent with GTx policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate would have led a Sales Training department for a pharmaceutical company in its first product launch or led a Sales Training department for a larger company through several product launches.
  • 10 to 15 years of industry experience with proven track record of success in multiple sales, sales management, and sales training departments.
  • A track record of developing training programs and materials that resulted in successful launch products
  • A track record of building the systems necessary to create a “Career Ladder” type of ongoing training and development program for all levels of sales personnel
  • A track record of developing people, building good working relationships across an organization, and leading cross-functional teams to goal completion.
  • A well-developed understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, analytical and organizational skills.
