Founded in 1997, GTx, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of therapeutic products related to men's health. The company's drug discovery and development programs are focused on small molecules that selectively target nuclear hormone receptors for estrogens and androgens. These nuclear hormone receptors are among the best-understood receptor systems, and pharmaceuticals have been developed to either stimulate or block these receptors for over 50 years.

To this end, we are actively recruiting for the following position:

Managed Care, Corporate Account Director (CAD)

Position Summary:

With general autonomy, promotes GTx products with national and targeted regional level
managed market customers in order to create favorable reimbursement through formulary access
thus enabling physicians to prescribe with minimal restrictions. Provides administrative and
operational service to PBM/Mail, MCO HMO/PPO and other third party payer clients, including
developing and maintaining close professional relationships, expanding market share, and
ensuring that clients receive the highest quality service. May assist in obtaining coverage for
company products for Medicaid and Medicare Part D. Identifies and develops new payer
customers who have the opportunity to significantly impact sales and market share. Assists in the
training of the Field Sales Team and their understanding of managed markets. Manages pullthrough
and push-through initiatives with the Field Sales Team when appropriate.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Promotes company products with managed market customers in order to create favorable
    formulary access thus enabling physicians to prescribe with minimal restrictions
  • Provides administrati 'e and operational service to PBM/Mail, MCO, HMO/PPO and
    other third party payer clients
  • May assist in obtaining coverage for company products for Medicaid and edicare Part
    D
  • Identifies and develops new customers who have the opportunity to significantly impact
    sales and market share
  • Assists in the training of the Field Sales Team in the understanding of managed markets
  • Accountable for an acceptable return on investment for any contract negotiations and
    marketing programs within purview
  • Works closely with Field Sales Team to develop and implement pull-through programs to
    build market share within specific accounts
  • Manages pull-through initiatives with the Field ales Team when rebate contacts are in
    effect for a particular payer
  • Attends various payer conferences and conventions as determined by management
  • Develops an annual business plan with detailed tactics for each account responsible for
  • Prepares and presents a semi -annual presentation to management on the progress of the
    business plan

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in business or science
  • At least seven years of pharmaceutical experience with at least three of the most recent
    years in a role as an account director/manager calling on top tier national accounts.
  • Must have managed care contracting experience
  • Distribution and Trade Relations
    • Manage top tier Distribution and Trade Accounts, analyzing and reviewing activities,
      costs, budgets and forecast data to ensure daily di tribution needs are met at launch and
      throughout a products life cycle
    • Establish and maintain key business relationships with national and regional wholesalers
      and retailers, manage DSA and F S agreement, and manage the G x return policy.
    • Manage inventory levels consist nt with compan policies, including review of 852 data.
  • Highly developed business skills including strategic and tactical planning,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Previous contracting experience in Government accounts and possess strong negotiating
    skills.
  • Good relationships and experience with a high percentage of key Government customers
  • Candidate should have 10 plus years in the pharmac utical industry with a background in
    Sales, Managed Care, with the most recent experience of3-5 years in Government
    Accounts. Experience in Trade Relations helpful.
  • Candidate should have at least 2 years managing Trade Accounts
  • Bachelors degree in business or life sciences.
